Date/Time End: Wednesday 7 March, 2018 - 4:30pm

Venue: 0.20 Buckingham Building

Changing Mindsets is a HEFCE funded project focused on closing the attainment gap of Black Minority Ethnic (BME) and socio-economically disadvantaged students. The Changing Mindsets intervention was developed in 2012 by Professor Sherria Hoskins, Dean of Science and is based on Professor Carol Dweck’s Implicit Theories of Intelligence. HEFCE Changing Mindsets includes student and staff workshops that build a growth mindset and an understanding of the interaction between stereotype threat and implicit bias and mindsets.

Following staff workshops delivered in Autumn 2017 to the schools of Computing, Pharmacy, and Law, this workshop is offered to any interested staff members across the university, especially those with teaching responsibilities. Your participation in this workshop will help shape the findings of this project and strengthen the intervention.
