Karen Blackett OBE PicIn an intimate Facebook Live interview, presenter and Portsmouth alumna Gemma Frith will be delving into the journey of the University’s new Chancellor, and former Portsmouth student, Karen Blackett OBE.

Karen is a highly successful businesswoman and respected alumna of the University of Portsmouth from where she graduated with a degree in Geography in 1992. Chairwoman of MediaCom, a testament to her 23 years media experience and CEO of five years, Karen is at the top of her game as a proven business leader in creating vibrant cultures, energising teams and consistently delivering business growth and success. Karen brings a different ingredient that creates the winning difference in business, while championing young people, diversity and creative leadership.

In 2014, Karen received an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday honours for her services to the media and communications industry. The following year in 2015, she was the first businesswoman to be named Britain’s Most Influential Black person in the Power List.
