*Change of Venue to Lecture Theatre 2 in Richmond Building*

As part of Fashion Revolution, Dr Liz Tregenza, fashion historian and vintage expert, will be giving a public lecture on the advantage of wearing vintage.

Wed 1st May 6pm – 8pm
Park Building Room 2.09

Today we value old clothing, no longer would we consider the clothes of one or two generations before ‘second hand’, instead they are valued as ‘vintage’.

This talk considers the motivations behind reviving past styles and furthermore considers why today, in an era of such cheap mass-produced clothing many people choose to wear vintage clothing? Do they wish to connect to the past via their sartorial choices? Or, are vintage clothes just the tools to create a different look?

Alongside the talk, there will also be the chance to handle some pieces from Liz’s extensive collection of vintage clothing.

Dr Liz Tregenza is the author of two Style Me Vintage publications and Visual Culture Tutor in the School of Art, Design and Performance.
