Building Surveys of Student HMO’s Looking at Moisture Problems

Research Title: Should there be tighter Regulations regarding the impacts and control of Moisture in HMO’s (specifically student Housing)

Survey Title: Building Surveys of Student HMO's Looking at Moisture Problems.

Department: School of Engineering and Surveying

Volunteers must be:

  • Age: Any
  • Gender: Male
  • Staff/Student: Student

Any student HMO is suitable for this survey but particularly those with known moisture related problems such as:
Condensation
Leaks
Damp
Mould

The survey will be arranged at a time suitable for the properties tenants.
Permission will be required to enter your property from each tenant and one tenant will need to be in the property at the time of the survey.
The survey will be non-inavsive, just visual, but with the use of moisture meters.
photos of defected areas will be taken and may be used in the final report but these won’t disclose the address of the property or tenants details.
