More free bike maintenance training courses for students and staff

Several more free bike maintenance training courses are being offered to student and staff cyclists to get to help them get more confident looking after their bikes.

Basic Bike Maintenance includes pre-ride checks, inflating tyres, fixing punctures, oiling the chain and understanding how gears and breaks work. This is being run on:

  • Wednesday 29 January – 5.00pm – 7.00pm – book now
  • Wednesday 18 March – 5.00pm – 7.00pm – book now

Follow-on Bike Maintenance looks at more advanced tweaks such as brake and gear adjustments.

  • Wednesday 5 February – 5.00pm – 7.00pm – book now
  • Wednesday 25 March – 5.00pm – 7.00pm – book now

All events will be run by Bicycle Recycling, and hosted at St Margaret’s Church, Highland Road, Portsmouth, PO4 9DD.

How to book

Please register your interest via Eventbrite. Places are limited, so booking is essential and is on a first come first served basis, with a waitlist in operation. If you’re unable to attend, please cancel your ticket so that someone else may benefit.

Ideally bring your own bike (or one can be supplied if you’re not able to). Please also wear warm clothes that you don’t mind getting dirty, and enclosed shoes.

  2. Hello,
The link for the Weds 5th Feb training redirects to Weds 18th March booking page on Eventbrite. Please could you provide the correct link?
    Thank you.

    • Hello, apologies for the error. The article has been amended. I’m afraid all places are booked up but you are free to join the waitlist.
