Top up your water bottle at one of 50 refill points across campus

A new University map highlights over 50 places on campus where reusable water bottles can be refilled, saving money and reducing waste.

The locations include both water refill stations, and University catering outlets, where students, staff and visitors can refill their bottles for free.

If you know of any other water fountains or refill points in University buildings that can be added to the map, please email Nick Leach with details.

Reusable bottles for sale

Around 7.7 billion plastic bottles are bought across the UK each year, creating large amounts of single-use plastic waste. And it’s many hundreds of times more expensive than tap water.

Water bottles that can be reused time and time again can be purchased from the Students’ Union’s shop, in person at the building or online.

  1. There are only a very small number of water points – we asked students to bring in refillable bottles during induction week – but one tap per building is not enough. The queues made students give up and buy bottled water.

We need to increase the provision asap

    • Hi Briony, part of this project of developing the map was to help identify cold spots where there aren’t refill points to improve provision in these areas.

  2. Can we place more water fountains in the Anglesea and Buckingham buildings

    • Hi Bolaji, Anglesea should provide water on each floor but Buckingham has been identified as a building which needs a refill point so the team are working on this.
