New seats added to the University library

The University Library has introduced 90 extra seats for students, following feedback in the National Student Survey (NSS).

40 new seats have been added to the silent study area on the top floor, and 50 seats to the first floor study space, since the start of the academic year.

This brings the total capacity for students using the Library to 1,690.

University Librarian Ken Dick said: “Student feedback has been that the area for individual silent study continues to be very popular, but that it can be quite busy.

“So we’ve reconfigured the Library layout to allow more students to benefit from this space. We hope that combined with other upgrades, the Library will better meet students’ needs.”
