Help raise the career ambitions of local school and college students

If you’re passionate about motivating young people, why not consider volunteering as an Enterprise Adviser?

Enterprise Advisers are professionals drawn from the world of work, and matched up with a local school or college to share their professional knowledge and contacts with headteachers or careers teams. Over the course of an academic year they donate their time and expertise to shape and improve careers programmes and opportunities for students at their school or college.

Research has shown that young people who have regular, meaningful interactions with the world of work are less likely to be NEET (Not in Employment, Education or Training) when they finish their education.

To find out more, come along and meet the Solent Team and Enterprise Advisers at:

Careers and Employability Centre, Guildhall Walk
Monday 8 July
12.00pm – 2.00pm

Supporting the network is part of the University’s commitment to being a ‘Cornerstone Employer’, meaning we’re committed to helping schools and colleges across the Solent area raise the ambitions of their students.

It’s also part of a national scheme run by the Careers & Enterprise Company. As a result volunteer Advisers are supported with resources, tools and information from a team of Enterprise Coordinators, and join a network of similarly-minded individuals.

For more information, contact Solent LEP on 02392 688924 or enterpriseadviser@solentlep.org.uk.
