Postgraduate Technology students showcase their work to the University

Students and staff are invited to the Faculty of Technology’s Annual Research and Innovation Conference, which takes place on Tuesday 18 June 2019 in Portland Building.

Join us for this showcase, day-long event which features our Postgraduate Research Students’ (PGRS) work, as well as presentations from senior researchers within the Faculty.

Research student competitions, with prizes for best entries, include ‘Best PGRS Paper’, ‘Best PGRS Short Talk’ and ‘Best PGRS Poster’.  An ever-popular competition is the 3 Minute Thesis (3MT) where research students inform the audience about their research in no more than 3 minutes, talking to a single, static slide – it is quite a challenge to distil years of work into just three minutes. Of course, there is a prize but the winner will also go forward to the University’s 3MT and may go through to Vitae’s National 3MT semi-final.

The topics featured at the Conference span the University’s research themes and include research in health technologies, cyber-security, cosmology, wearables, and many more.

Registration ends 25 May so don’t delay, register today!
