Thai cave rescuer Jason Mallinson to tell his amazing story

The University of Portsmouth is hosting an evening with Pride of Britain winner, Thai cave rescue diver and former student Jason Mallinson next week.

Following the daring rescue of the 12 boys trapped in a Thai cave last summer, Portsmouth engineering alumnus Jason Mallison’s name was on every major news media. After helping to carefully plan the dangerous rescue, Jason risked his own life to heroically bring four of the boys out of the flooded caves.

Receiving recognition for his efforts, Jason was awarded the Queen’s Gallantry Medal in the New Year Honours List for his bravery, as well as a Pride of Britain Award.

From humble cave diving beginnings in the Yorkshire Dales network of caves to international expeditions, Jason has pushed the boundaries of what was thought possible in the elite world of cave diving exploration.

On Wednesday 13 March at the King’s Theatre, Jason will tell his amazing story.

The evening starts at 6.30 pm and admission is free, but by ticket only. Please book on Eventbrite
