Marketing Portal is a hit with staff

Staff have praised the Marketing Portal which more than 1,400 staff have used since its launch in October with over 7,000 logins and 15,000 downloads.

Mark Corominas-Casey from the School of Education and Sociology said: “For someone relatively new to marketing, the portal is easy to navigate and is really helpful in creating marketing materials.”

The digital system replaced the outdated Asset Bank last year to provide branded templates, business cards, letterheads, downloadable photography, logos and much more. Staff can easily find and download what they are looking for as well as order designed material and corporate stationery.

The University logo was the popular search term, and the most downloaded image was an aerial photograph of the city featured above with over 200 downloads.

Since templates were added there has been a steady increase of orders through the portal. Approximately 80 requests have been received by Printing Services since the beginning of January, which were turned around and delivered within 72 hours.

Business cards have been the most popular item, followed by posters. Ian Brown from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences used the portal to create posters for a student event and leaflets to inform students of the services provided by the Placement and Internship Centre.

Ian said: “The Marketing Portal is easy to navigate and user friendly. I have been able to find suitable images within the system that represent our service. The process of adding and editing text into the templates are straightforward, and enables you to see how your final design will look.”

Downloadable quotes to use for student stories will soon be added to the portal and the team will continue to improve the system and add more to the available 8,000+ assets available to staff.
