Give it a Go Week

Try something new with the Students’ Union in Give it a Go Week (starting 29 January) with taster sessions for 30 different activities including gaming, dodgeball and learning French. No need to sign up – just pop by for a taster session.

Make a difference, volunteer!

Feel Good Fest

Take part in an afternoon of food, fun, and activities at the University’s Feel Good Fest on 6 February. There’s free food tasting, giveaways, entertainment from university societies, craft and photography workshops and even a chance to meet Portsmouth Football Club first team players. Haver with Harriet

Share your views on your student experience with Harriet Dunbar-Morris, Dean of Learning and Teaching at the next Haver with Harriet. It’s a chance to provide feedback about the University to help ensure enhancements are made. Pop by for a chat with Harriet and her dog Toto at the Library on 31 January from 2.30pm to 4.30pm

Cycle with confidence: Free training

Portsmouth City Council is offering free cycle training for University students. You’ll get help to ride with confidence, basic bike maintenance skills, and some freebies. The training is one of a number of schemes the council has introduced to reduce pollution levels and improve air quality. To find out more and apply email

Dry January

A number of students are giving up alcohol for Dry January while raising money for charity through their own fundraising pages. As an added incentive, the Students’ Union are offering a prize draw for Dry January students. To enter please email

International and EU Orientation Welcome Day

If you’re a new International or EU student you can join a Welcome Day arranged by the UoP Global team on 23 January. The programme includes:

  • Check-in and Welcome Packs
  • Welcome presentation in Portland 1.74 with Support Services Information Fair in Portland Atrium
  • Campus and city walking tours
