University comes together to donate for The LifeHouse charity

Throughout December, University staff donated hundreds of items for local charity – The LifeHouse as part of ‘The Reverse Advent Calendar Challenge’.

Organised by Hayley Wheeler in UoPGlobal, boxes and tins of food, toiletries and gifts were given to help those during a time of year which can be difficult.

The LifeHouse is a soup kitchen, resource and support centre that serves hot food in Albert Road, Southsea, with the aim to target immediate needs and issues surrounding homelessness and addiction for those in need in Southsea and Portsmouth. The collection put together by the University of Portsmouth will help those in need over the Christmas period ensuring hot food, clean clothes and toiletries are available.

Contributions were also made by Santander Portsmouth alongside the many departments throughout the University, the donations filled 4 car loads and was taken to The LifeHouse ready for Christmas and the New Year.
