Use images to tell stories about science to win £15,000

Wellcome, a biomedical research charity, are inviting photographers and image makers from all disciplines to enter the Wellcome Photography Prize. Previously known as the Wellcome Image Awards, this newly relaunched competition is looking for entries that can tell stories about health, science and medicine.

The prize is open to anyone, whether a clinical photographer or documentary maker, a research scientist or an artist. It is free to enter, with prizes in four categories and a top overall prize of £15,000. All the winning and shortlisted entries will go on show in a public exhibition at Lethaby Gallery, Central Saint Martins, University of the Arts London, from 4-13 July 2019.

They are particularly interested in entries for the ‘Hidden Worlds’ category. These images could connect people with exciting biomedical research,  use cutting-edge imaging technologies to let people watch science at work, reveal cellular structures or show ways to diagnose or detect disease more effectively.
