University logo revealed on Portsmouth Football Club’s new kit

Portsmouth Football Club’s new home kit has been revealed today – with our name emblazoned right across the shirt.

The University’s front-of-shirt sponsorship is part of a three-year deal as the Club’s Main Partner, building on our successful year as the Football Club’s Official Education sponsor, with joined-up research and outreach to inspire local children.

The new shirts will be available to buy from 9am on Thursday, 28 June, at the Club’s new shop in Anson Road and in their online store.

Vice-chancellor Graham Galbraith said: “I am so pleased with the new shirt design by Nike, which proudly advertises the University of Portsmouth and our partnership with Portsmouth Football Club. I am certain our partnership with the club will have an increasingly positive impact on our great city. I look forward to joining fans and cheering on Pompey to success next season.”

Discounted Tickets

Discounted Purple Tickets for home games will also be available for staff and students for the same price as last year – £15. The 2018/19 fixture list is now available with the season starting at home to Luton on 4 August, and finishing on 4 May with a home match against Accrington Stanley. Tickets will go on sale mid-July via the Club’s website.

As well as discounted tickets, the renewed partnership will provide a number of collaborative health and education research opportunities, use of the grounds and facilities, as well as engaging players in the University’s outreach programme with local schools and colleges to reach out and inspire children to apply for university.

  1. Hi like the new portsmouth shirt, does our collaboration with the football team mean we get cheaper shirts too?

    • Hello Melanie. Discounted shirts and merchandise are not part of the sponsorship deal, but there are discounted tickets for staff and students as detailed above. Thanks for your question
