If you don’t know, get to know – drug safety awareness

Drug testing kits are available from the Union Advice Service

The University of Portsmouth Students’ Union (UPSU) recently launched a drug harm reduction campaign with VP Activities Amber Mathurin, which aims to educate students on the negative effects of taking drugs.

The safest way to prevent harm from drug use is to not take drugs at all and both UPSU and the University of Portsmouth promote a safe and supportive environment in which to work and study. Despite this, some students may still choose to take drugs and so drug testing kits are available from the Union Advice Service to help reduce the use of drugs with harmful ingredients.

Please make sure you are making educated decisions and know the law around drugs if you do decide to take substances. Different drugs work in different ways and their effects can vary from person to person. Make sure you know what you could be taking.

If you’re seeking advice on drug use for yourself or a friend, please contact the Union’s Advice Service at advice@upsu.net or visit www.upsu.net/keep-safe.
