A Literary Mystery – Park Building

A Literary Mystery – Park Building, University of Portsmouth – Thursday 7 June, 6.00pm – 8.00pm

In the University of Portsmouth’s first building, there is writing on the wall. Hidden in a turret cupboard on the second floor is a curious quotation with a sinister message that seems to be linked to a dark incident in Park’s past. Despite the help of the city’s famous writers, who come to life for a series of talks on Electric Telegraphy, Wireless Radio and Radium, the evening will take a spooky turn. As Dickens and Kipling, H.G. Wells and Arthur Conan Doyle lead you up the ornate staircase and along atmospheric corridors, you can solve clues in the sci-fi stories, scientific articles and even the account of a séance they’ll share in this immersive literary mystery. This is a free event: please be on Park steps by 6.00pm…

Devised and directed by Dr Alison Habens, CCi, in association with Supernatural Cities and Portsmouth City Council’s BookFest.
