NSS 2017 – one month to go

Be Heard logo thumbnailThe participation rate on the National Student Survey (NSS) has now reached just over 70 per cent.

We greatly appreciate the efforts of everyone involved and, with only a month to go until the survey closes, are keen to keep up the momentum to ensure that each course reaches the target of a minimum of 80 per cent participation rate. We therefore ask you to continue your efforts to encourage those students who have not yet participated in the survey, to do so before they leave for the Easter break.

Pop-up events to encourage participation have been running at various locations across the campus recently – the last ones before Easter are:

  • Thursday 29 March, 11am–2pm: Eldon and Richmond
  • Friday 31 March, 11am–2pm: Dennis Sciama and the Library

As you are aware, the results are important to the University as we use them to learn how we can improve our courses, invest in facilities and develop the whole student experience. Some of the questions will also contribute to the University’s performance in both the Teaching Excellence Framework (for 2018) and league tables. In addition, feedback can help prospective students when choosing which institution to go to and what course to study.

More information is available on the DCQE pages of the staff intranet.

How to complete the survey
Students can access the survey via a link in an email that they were sent in January from Ipsos MORI, through a link from their Moodle account, or by going directly to www.thestudentsurvey.com.
