Events to support your wellbeing

Student support services resizedThe University’s support and wellbeing teams are running lots of great events during January and February to show what help and advice is available and to demonstrate all the different ways we can support our own wellbeing.

Student support events

  • Wednesday 18 January, 11.00am–2.00pm: University Library
  • Wednesday 25 January, 11.00am–2.00pm: Portland Building
  • Thursday 2 February, 11.00am–2.00pm: Students’ Union
  • Wednesday 8 February, 11.00am–2.00pm: Richmond Building

Staff members from the support services are having a stand in the foyer of the venues listed above. It’s a good opportunity for you to chat to them and find out more about how the different services can help, or just come along and pick up a leaflet.

Wellbeing Café

Every Wednesday during term, 4.00pm–5.30pm: Café Coco

The Wellbeing Café is a friendly weekly meeting to get together with other students interested in supporting their own wellbeing at university. You can drop in just to hang out, connect with others and have a cup of tea.

You also have the opportunity to access information around wellbeing or take part in informal activities that have been developed by and for the students who attend the café.

Time to Talk Day

Thursday 2 February, 11.00am–4.00pm: Library and Union Foyer

Time to Talk Day is an annual event, initiated by Time to Change, to bring the nation together to get talking and break the silence around mental health problems.

At the University, the Union Advice Service will be engaging with students over various activities including photo booth, and an afternoon tea party with the Tea Party Society.

Wellbeing Festival

Wednesday 15 February, 1pm-4pm: 3rd Space, Students’ Union

The theme for this year’s festival is about celebrating the five ways to wellbeing: connect, be active, take notice, keep learning, give.

Come and join us for activities, workshops and to meet amazing people to demonstrate, promote, showcase and celebrate all the different ways we can support our own wellbeing. There will be juggling, hula hooping and yoga, great food to help boost your mood, massage and manicure tasters and much more.
