Volunteer and make a difference

indexPortsmouth Abuse and Rape Counselling Service (PARCS) is looking for helpline volunteers.

PARCS provides free specialist counselling to men and women who are resident in Portsmouth and South East Hampshire, and who have experienced any form of sexual violation at any time in their lives. PARCS has had associations with the University over the years and this week even worked with our undergraduates in the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries in helping them to create a film.

If you are interested in volunteering, you will get full training and continuing support from PARCS. In addition, there is the chance to meet lots of committed people and be a part of fundraising and awareness events. The training takes place over four weekend days in mid-late November and if trainees are accepted, an additional fifth day in early December.
