Truth, Lies and Memory

The study involves watching a video about a spy device and then being interviewed about it afterwards.

Depending on which condition you are in, you may be asked to lie during the interview. The study offers two additional conditions, an immediate and a delay.

In the immediate condition, you will watch the video and then be interviewed about it afterwards, and for this you are paid £10. The study will take no longer than 60 minutes.

In the delay condition, you are asked to watch the video and then return three weeks later for the interview, and for this you will be paid £15. The initial and second stage will be no longer than 30 minutes each (so a maximum of 60 minutes).

Volunteers must be:

  • Age: 18+
  • Gender: Either
  • Staff/Student: Both

More Information:

Depending on the condition, participants are paid either £10 or £15. First year students who are part of participant pool are eligible to choose one credit in lieu of the monetary incentive.
