We are looking for qualified and unqualified referees

A new study has found that football referees don’t suffer as much criticism as they believe.

We have opportunities for qualified and unqualified referees.

Qualified Referees

If you are a student who has completed your FA Referee qualification already, you can access paid work straight away on our football leagues.

Unqualified Referees

If you would like to get involved in refereeing but you have not completed the FA Basic Referee qualification, we are offering students the chance to complete the course free, and pay back some voluntary hours officiating on our leagues before gaining paid work opportunities.

Successful applicants will be mentored by our Referee Activator before accessing paid work within one of our sports programmes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to get your FA Basic Referee qualification and gain experience as a football referee, all for free!

If you are interested in getting further information about the Referee Hub programme, or would like an application form, please contact Rachel.Robilliard@port.ac.uk

All applications need to be completed and submitted by 12.00pm on Thursday 6 October 2016.

  1. I used to help run Everton FC’s Mini kickers and was offered this course and the FA coaching one however due to lack of time during my GCSE’s unfortunately i couldn’t participate. I am keen to get involved and start ASAP.

  2. I have been a qualified referee for over 2 years, and am interested into getting back into it down here. Hope to hear from you, thanks.
