Parking procedures for University Open Day

car parkingOur final 2014 Open Day is this Saturday 1 November, and once again we are expecting a great number of visitors to the University.

Thank you to all staff who are involved in making these days a success; we hope to meet lots of enthusiastic prospective students.

We’d like to remind everyone of the parking arrangements for this weekend.

In order to improve our parking provision for these key recruitment events, the following allocation of car parks has been agreed between Estates and the Marketing and Communications Department:

Visitor only car parks

  • Portland
  • Melbourne Place
  • University House
  • Ravelin (large)
  • Nuffield
  • Eldon
  • Milldam
  • Anglesea Rear
  • St George’s

 Staff only car parks

  • St Andrew’s Court
  • Anglesea Front
  • Gun House
  • Ravelin House
  • William Beatty
  • Rotunda
  • Lion Gate
  • Park
  • Wiltshire

Other smaller car parks that are not listed are available for use, but will not be advertised due to their size and difficulty in signposting, or issues with accessibility.

Security staff and signage will be at the entrance to car parks, identifying whether they are intended for the use of visitors or staff.

Portsmouth City Council have been made aware of all dates. No PCC staff will be on campus checking visitor car parks for permits during our events. However, staff vehicles will be required to display valid permits, or to show their campus card to security staff on the gate.

Please note that some staff car parks will be opened to visitors later in the day, after staff have arrived, to provide extra parking if needed.
