Green Living Assistants wanted

Boost your employability and gain professional skills: we want students with an interest in environmental issues to help students in halls live more sustainably.

What skills do I need?
You don’t need any previous experience or an environmental background; you’ll receive full training. We’ll also invite you to professional skills workshops to help you make the most of your role. Third year students will benefit most from this opportunity but we are accepting applications from all years.

What will I do?
There are loads of opportunities to get involved with during the year including monthly Halls visits, social media campaigns and events, along with funded social outings and other treats to reward your commitment.

What’s in it for me?
Volunteering looks great on your CV and can really boost your employability; we’re asking for 30 hours of your time in total, with the opportunity for you to do more if you’re keen. Previous volunteers have got in touch to let us know they found employment immediately after leaving University, and that this role was key in securing their job.

The role runs from September 2014 to April 2015.

This is a great opportunity to:

  • Meet people with similar interests
  • Boost your sustainability literacy
  • Encourage sustainable behaviour in others
  • Gain skills and experience to put on your CV

Please apply by filling in the online application form.

Deadline for applications: 5.00pm, Saturday 23 August 2014

Training: Tuesday 9 September 2014

Start date: Monday 15 September 2014
