Green Impact update

As part of the Green Portsmouth initiative, the University has been taking part in the Green Impact 2012/13 programme. Green Impact is a framework that helps University staff improve the environmental performance of their department and the University as a whole.

Teams have been working since October to complete practical actions that will reduce environmental impacts in areas such as water, energy, transport and procurement, and next week is the completion deadline.

Although it’s nearly finished, it’s not too late to get involved yourself. Speak to your Green Champion today to find out how you can help make the University a greener place and whether your department is on track to succeed. Or if you have a brilliant idea that will make us greener, let your Green Champion know (you can find your departmental Green Champion using the online directory).

An awards ceremony will take place to recognise the efforts of the best teams and there is also the opportunity to win national prizes and really showcase the efforts we make here at Portsmouth.

If you feel someone from your department deserves special recognition for their Green Impact work, please nominate them for the ‘Environmental Hero’ award.
