What would you do in a flood or an earthquake?

A number of situations based on crises caused by natural events have been created to find out how people would respond. If you or anyone you know would like to take part in this research at the University, your participation will make a contribution into understanding how local communities and individuals respond during a crisis.

The study takes no longer than 40 minutes to complete and a time and place can be arranged to suit you. The simulations do not involve any physical activity. There is a short questionnaire and then you would take part in three short simulations, each with a different scenario. The session ends with a chat about the simulations and the scenarios.

You will be asked to answer a further set of questions three months after you take part in the simulation. This can be done over the telephone and will take no more than 15 minutes.  There will be tea/coffee/biscuits as a thank you for your participation.

The simulations will be run over the next two months and volunteers must be over 18 years. All responses will be treated in confidence and you will not be identified in any research output.
