The University’s Alumni Association is excited to announce the launch of our Facebook Live Series where alumni, students and staff are invited to tune in online and hear live panel discussions on crowdfunding, employability and entrepreneurship.

With four events planned throughout the year, you will hear real-life examples from alumni who are at various stages in their careers, in different industries. There is an opportunity to ask questions before and during each live event that will be put to the guest speakers.

The first event in the series – ‘How to create a successful crowdfunding campaign’ – is taking place on Thursday 25 May 2017, 1pm–1.30pm.

Streamed live from the Cell Block Studios, a creative workspace for businesses in the Historic Dockyard, Director of Undergraduate Programmes in Economics, Professor Joe Cox, will be discussing his top tips on how to successfully reach your crowdfunding goal.

Also on the panel, will be the founders of DICE, who successfully raised £11,662 for Portsmouth’s first board game café and, currently at the beginning stage of their crowdfunding campaign, Revolv, who are supporting emerging artists by organising talks and events. They will be giving valuable insight into what it’s like to create and manage a crowdfunding campaign and what fundamental lessons were learnt throughout the process.
