Anglesea Road overnight closure

Night time road closures are planned for Anglesea Road this month, when work on the new pedestrian crossing on Anglesea Road continues.

Work to improve the pavement area of the crossing at the junction of Anglesea Road and Park Road starts on Monday 18 February, for five nights.

Work will take place overnight to minimise disruption during half term.  An overnight southbound road closure of Anglesea Road is planned between 10pm and 5.30am, Monday to Friday.  During the road closure vehicles will be diverted via Queen Street, Wickham Street and St George’s Road. The road will remain open to pedestrians.

The junction is on one of Portsmouth’s main routes in and out of the city and required a redesign when the former layout was no longer suitable for the high volume of pedestrians and vehicles it served.
