Burrell House refurbishment and car park closure

An extensive refurbishment to improve the Burrell House halls of residence will start on Monday 4 February.

The £4.7 million refurbishment will improve the energy efficiency and environmental comfort of the accommodation (which is currently vacant) by upgrading windows, doors, the roof and building services. We have listened to student feedback and will be installing a laundry facility at this hall as well as refreshing the decor and other finishes to make the hall a more attractive place to live. We will be retaining the popular communal space and the recently upgraded kitchen facilities.

The car park outside the building, which was temporarily re-opened after the initial enabling works, will be closed from Monday until September 2019 for construction company Morgan Sindall to work at the site. They will install scaffolding and equipment and put up their branded hoarding over the next week.
