‘my Erasmus+ Discovery’ Photo and Video competition

The UK Erasmus+ National Agency for the Erasmus+ programme, the British Council and Ecorys, organise a yearly photo and video competition for all participants.

Timothy Collinson, from the University Library, was one of the three winners from National Agency Director and Deputy Director choices.

The competition aims to celebrate all the wonderful discoveries and experiences participants had under the Erasmus+ programme. It allows students and staff to broaden their horizons, discover new aspects about themselves and the world, experiencing different cultures, learn new skills and knowledge, and create a new international network of contacts.

Participants were offered the chance to enter the competition and to show their Erasmus+ discovery and the impact it had on a personal and/or professional level.

About the Photo by Timothy Collinson

“This sums up my Erasmus experience: the place, the programme, the people.

  • place: Brno is a modern vibrant city that was a delight to visit and we saw it at its best in a scorching summer week;
  • programme: Masaryk University put on an excellent week of librarian training and visits that was both interesting and inspirational, with lots to take home;
  • people: it was a privilege and a delight to meet new friends from all over Europe who were fun and friendly – from the presentations, we had to give in the day, to the “pivo” we drank in the evenings.

The porthole shaped window into a library captures both the travelling involved and the purpose for the week, as well as a sense of looking ahead.”
