Research Title: How WEIRD are lie-tellers in the United Kingdom? An examination of lie position and consistency

Survey Title: Cross-cultural differences in deception

Department: Psychology

Participants will be asked to truthfully recall three events that happened to them in the past six months, and to lie about an event they have never experienced previously. They will then be interviewed about these four events. Participants will be given as long as they need to prepare for the interview. The interview will be audio-taped. Also, they will complete pre- and post-interview questionnaires about their planning and interview experiences and strategies. Participants will receive one course credit if they are first year psychology students or £5.
