2 day Joint Conference: India-UK Economic Regulatory Perspectives

Join the Democratic Citizenship Theme alongside external partners on Thursday 14 and Friday 15 June for this multi-disciplinary and comparative Research Conference focusing on trade, business and regulations and their relations and impact on societal challenges.

This Conference is jointly organised by the University of Portsmouth (UoP), the Democratic Citizenship (DC) Theme, and the Institute of South Asian Studies (ISAS) of the National University of Singapore (NUS). Additional Partners are the Centre for International Trade and Investment Law, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, and the South Asian University (SAU), both based in New Delhi, India.

The main objectives will be to establish a longer-term cooperation between the different institutions, working towards joint publications and funding bid applications. Conference papers will be taken together into an edited volume. Prof. Leïla Choukroune (UoP, DC Theme) and Dr. Amitendu Palit (ISAS, NUS) will edit the volume. The discussions from the Impact Workshop will be put together into a special report.

Sessions will include: Trade and Investment, Regulations, Dispute Settlement – trade and investment, Dispute Settlement – commercial, and the Seven Decades of Independent India book launch.
