Wellbeing Workshop Overview:

As part of the official launch of the Health and Wellbeing theme, Professor Gordon Blunn and Dr Karen Pilkington will be hosting the inaugural wellbeing workshop on Tuesday 24 April, 10.00am-2.00pm in Buckingham Building, Room 3.05.

The aim of the workshop is to bring together researchers at the University of Portsmouth from across faculties and disciplines to share ideas from a variety of perspectives to collate for future proposals from which it is expected future funding will arise. Lunch will be provided and there will be opportunities for networking following the event.

What to expect from the Wellbeing Workshop:

Speakers have been invited to present a series of talks on a variety of wellbeing topics including; global wellbeing, wellbeing in childhood and education, physical health and wellbeing, and mental health and wellbeing. More may be announced in due course.

Each attendee will be assigned to a breakout session by Professor Blunn and Dr Pilkington according to their current research area and future research interests as determined by a bespoke questionnaire to be completed prior to the event.

This will take place following the talks and will last approximately 45 minutes, during which support from members of Research Design Service will be available to give advice on funding streams that link to specific areas of research.

The Wellbeing Workshop Opportunity:

The event will provide researchers with the opportunity for discussion, collaboration and networking with those whose paths may otherwise be unlikely to cross. A prize will be awarded for the best initial proposal and a follow-up session will be arranged with the support of RDS.
