Research Title: A study on the effectiveness of incorporating mobile phones within classroom language learning

Department: School of Languages and Area Studies

We are looking for international students who would like to receive English language lessons in a classroom while using their mobile phone. This is part of a research project into the effectiveness of incorporating mobile phones within classroom language learning.

What you will do:
– Use your mobile phone to find information in English
– Use this information to learn English under the guidance of a university lecturer
– Complete surveys and an interview on your opinions of the lessons and how you use your mobile phone

Details of participants will be kept anonymous, and you will not need to give your mobile phone to anyone else during the study. Results from surveys and interviews may be presented in academic publications in the future.

Volunteers must be:

  • Age: 18 or over
  • Gender: Either
  • Staff/Student: Student

A £5 Amazon voucher will be given to all participants to say “thank you”.

  • Dates: 23/2/2018 to 9/3/2018
  • Duration: 3 sessions of 60 minutes
  • Location: Park Building
