Good News for Architecture at UoP

Banner-for-webThe University of PortsmouthCCI are pleased to welcome back, Roberto Braglia, following his recent visit to Malaysia.

After a long and rigorous validation process based on the “attributes, knowledge and skills required in Architectural study”, the Faculty of Creative and Cultural Industries are proud to announce that both BA (Hons) and MA Architecture Programmes, have received accreditation from LAM, the Malaysian Board of Architects.

Roberto Braglia, Senior Lecturer in the School of Architecture, recently had the opportunity to travel to Kuala Lumpur, to visit some of the top education providers in Malaysia, Taylor’s University, the One Academy, and the ALFA College.

The visit was an opportunity to meet, and exchange ideas with colleagues and students, studying Architecture, and Interior Architecture and Design, at a range of levels.

As a guest lecturer, Roberto had a chance to talk about architectural portfolios and discuss study opportunities in the UK. Following his presentations, a series of workshops were organised to help students learn how to promote their skills and design ambitions when planning their future career.

Third year students from Taylor’s University shared their work in progress with Roberto, who noted a very high level of design sophistication. He was also particularly impressed with the advanced representational skills of the One Academy diploma students, and with the well-crafted architectural models exhibited at the AFLA college.

During his stay, Roberto also met with recent University of Portsmouth, School of Architecture graduate, Maryam Shaharuddin. They spent the afternoon at the Petronas Towers where Roberto shared some useful career tips for the architectural profession and Maryam got to enjoy her free copy of the Yearbook!
