Tell me about your memorable event…or make one up.

Research Title: Investigating cues to deception when individuals lie or tell the truth about a recalled event.

Department: Psychology

In this study, you will be asked to fill out a pre-interview questionnaire and then will either be asked to truthfully recall a memorable event or to lie and pretend that you experienced an event you did not.  After this you will complete a post- interview questionnaire and then be debriefed about the study. You do not need to prepare anything in advance.

Volunteers must be:

  • Age: 18+
  • Gender: Either
  • Staff/Student: Both

More Information:

If you do not require participant pool credits then you will be paid £10 for your time. Students requiring participant pool credits will receive 1 course credit.Additionally, if you are convincing you will be entered into a draw to win one of three prizes up to £150. The first prize is £150, the second prize is £75 and the third prize is £50.
