Validation of the Simple Physical Activity Questionnaire (SIMPAQ)

A potential barrier to the routine implementation of physical activity programs within mental health settings is the difficulty in applying routine measurement that enables evaluation of the effectiveness of interventions. In order to ensure the accurate assessment of physical activity across people with mental health problems, we developed a self-report physical activity tool, called the Simple Physical Activity Questionnaire that aims to address many of these unique challenges. This project will determine the validity and reliability of the Simple Physical Activity Questionnaire (SIMPAQ) for assessing physical activity among people experiencing mental disorders.

For this study you will be asked to fill out a series of questionnaires and wear an accelerometer (a small measurement device) for one week.
