Early employment successes of Portsmouth graduates

mortar-boards-sun-31065Over ninety six per cent of last year’s graduates were in employment or further study six months after leaving here. Which is a significant increase of 3.8 per cent on the previous year’s graduates.

Figures from the Destination of Leavers in Higher Education survey were published today.  Portsmouth graduates are more likely to be in work or further study than graduates from any other university in the South East region. In the whole county, out of 153 institutions, Portsmouth graduates ranked 21st.

These figures come hot on the heels of our prestigious Gold rating in the Teaching Excellence Framework, announced on 22 June.

  1. Of the over 96% of last year’s graduates “……in employment or further study six months after leaving here.”, are there figures for the percentage of those jobs/courses for which a first degree was an essential qualifying requirement?
