Research Title: The relationship between lifestyle and sense of smell

Department: Psychology

The Department of Psychology is looking for volunteers for a study examining the relationship between lifestyle factors and sense of smell.

The study will entail attending one session at the department of Psychology (King Henry Building), completing a standardised olfactory test for two separate odours, to assess odour (smell) sensitivity, a brief computer task and mood questionnaire.

The duration of the study will be no more than 60 minutes and participants will receive £10 for their time.

To be eligible, you must be a:

  • non-smoker
  • have no known problems with your sense of smell
  • free from any respiratory conditions (e.g. asthma)
  • not have any allergies to food related odours

Volunteers must be:

  • Age: 18-60
  • Gender: Either
  • Staff/Student: Both
