National Blood Week – Save someone’s life while going about yours

downloadYou can save the life of someone else, while going about yours during National Blood Week (19–25 June).  NHS Blood and Transplant will be celebrating how blood donors make a difference every day; saving people whose lives depend on blood.

Over the last year 900,000 people have given up their time to help the NHS and critically ill patients. But we need more new donors.

During the week they will be launching an appeal to urgently find new black donors to help patients with sickle cell disease, one of the most common and fastest growing genetic blood disorders in England and the UK.  They need your  help to recruit 200,000 new blood donors and 40,000 new black blood donors.

To find your nearest blood donation centre and to register to donate blood: www.blood.co.uk.
