Professor John McGeehan will discuss how shining X-rays at tiny crystals can help solve global challenges from disease to sustainable energy at a free public lecture this week.
The event takes place on Wednesday 15 February from 6pm followed by a drinks reception at the University’s Portland Building, Portland Street PO1 3AH.
‘Shine on you crazy Diamond – A light into the biological world’ is Professor McGeehan’s inaugural lecture. He said: “We have come a long way since the discovery of the DNA double helix, and now have huge X-ray microscopes such as the Diamond Light Source that can reveal the 3D structures of nature’s molecules of life.”
Admission is free, but please book a place at https://johnmcgeehan.eventbrite.co.uk
