Erasmus+ staff training opportunities

Erasmus + logoThe European Commission funded Erasmus+ programme offers the opportunity to both academic and support staff to participate in training events in Europe with the aim of enhancing personal and professional skills.

Training events abroad may be in the form of job shadowing, observation, workshops or courses. Academic staff can also participate in staff teaching activities to partner HEIs. In addition, there are fixed Erasmus+ staff training weeks offered by other European Higher Education Institutions. Details of these can be found at: http://staffmobility.eu/

If any of these weeks are relevant to your current job role and you want to participate or would like more information, please declare your interest by contacting Chrissy Hadjipanteli (chrissy.hadjipanteli@port.ac.uk) in the Exchanges and Study Abroad team.

Please note that there are limited places available and the deadline to declare interest is Monday 13 February 2017.

Further information about the Erasmus+ staff scheme can be found here.

Testimonial from Adam Francombe, Service Improvement Analyst, Information Services:

‘I am very thankful to have had the opportunity to attend an Erasmus+ staff training week with the help and support of the Exchanges and Study Abroad team in the International Office. The group of attendees were a mixture of IT and International Office staff from many different European countries and it was a pleasure to meet them all. I was enlightened with a cultural tour of Brno, Czech Republic, along with a week-long IT Training programme on behalf of Masaryk University. I found the experience of identifying the IT challenges we shared in common to be very helpful and a collaborative effort was made by all to help each other on their particular topics. It was also great to explore a new city with some brilliant people, I couldn’t recommend it enough!’
