Researchers at the University of Portsmouth are interested in false identity and our descriptions of past events, specifically the differences between such descriptions for truth tellers and liars.
In this study you will be allocated to one of two possible conditions. Depending on which task you are allocated to, you may be required to lie when later interviewed.
The study will take approximately 60-70 minutes (maximum) of your time, and will involve an interview. If you are interested in taking part, we will inform you of specific instructions and the condition in which you will be placed seven days before the study.
If you are able to tell a convincing story to the interviewer, you will be entered into a draw to win one of three possible prizes; £150, £100 and £50.
Volunteers must be:
- Age: 18+
- Gender: Either
- Staff/Student: Both
1st year psychology students who are part of the participant pool system are able to earn 1.5 credits for participation. All convincing interviewees will be entered into a draw to win one of three possible prizes; £150, £100 and £50.
