Future Technology Centre update – Issue 6

FTC octIn this issue of the FTC update, find out more about the completed Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Survey and watch the latest time lapse video that captures the piling rig in action installing the foundations. This can be viewed by scrolling to the bottom of the FTC web pages.

Intrusive UXO surveys are undertaken when excavating and piling below ground in areas where there is the possibility that historical unexploded bombs may be found. The surveying was slightly delayed due to the specialists being required elsewhere in the city to support with other ordnance. We were pleased to find there were no unexploded bombs on the FTC site and work has progressed well.

This month also saw the latest digital edition of the Alumni magazine that has an update on developments to our campus including the FTC. You can view it here.

Over the next month, a tower crane will be erected and substructure activity will get underway.

We apologise for any inconvenience or disturbance caused during this time.

  1. I love the time lapse camera – such a clever way to keep us up to date with the progress on site (especially for us visual learners!).
