Future Technology CentreThis new Future Technology Centre update is a great opportunity to find out about progress on the project and any work that may affect you.

The Future Technology Centre (FTC) will be an impressive new facility, for University of Portsmouth students to become innovative engineers of the future through hands-on experience of specialist technology to develop creative answers to global challenges.

New courses for 2017 – Students on the BEng and MEng Innovation Engineering courses will be locate in the new building. These courses are advertised in the 2017 prospectus and can also be found on our website.

NBike racksew cycle storage – the new cycle storage has been installed in the northern quarter ahead of the racks outside Portland building being demolished. These 2-tier racks will save space and are easy to use. Each bike can be securely locked into it’s own space.

Review of room location during exam periods – work has been carried out to review the location of exam rooms so that disruption is not caused to students at this time.

Ediggersnabling work–In preparation for construction the sewer is being re-routed as it was running under the proposed foundations for the new building. This work started on Monday 14 March. An existing surface water drain passes under the new building. A thorough investigation has been carried out and some cracks have been identified. Work has started to replace sections of the sewer so that it is in good working order before construction begins.

Disruption information – Majority of Portland car park closed from 11 March 2016 Note:this car park will be completely closed when construction starts and reopened, Summer 2017.
