The future of NHS services at Guildhall Walk

Do you use the NHS services at Guildhall Walk Healthcare Centre? Did you know that there is currently a public consultation on the future of the service? NHS survey

The local NHS is running a public consultation process regarding the future of the Guildhall Walk Healthcare Centre, which is well used by staff and students in the city. The outcome may be to move the GP-led ‘walk-in’ service from its current location at Guildhall Walk, and relocate it alongside the existing walk-in service at St Mary’s Treatment Centre.

To submit your views about walk-in services, please complete the survey by 19 February 2016.

The consultation asks people to consider:

  • The future of the walk-in service at Guildhall Walk – this is open to everyone who wishes to participate
  • The future of the GP practice on the same site – this is open only to people who are registered as patients at this practice.

The results of this formal consultation, which runs until 19 February, will then be considered before final decisions are made about the future of Guildhall Walk services. Anyone who uses the Guildhall Walk facility – either as a registered patient, or as a walk-in service – is encouraged to take part in the consultation.

The consultation is being run by NHS Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and follows a more informal survey of opinion carried out over the summer of 2015.

  1. Keep it open – its ideal for the whole community of Portsmouth especially those students near the area and it should be open in the evenings for those on an evening out

  2. The University should be doing everything to keep this open. With 30,000 students on Campus, this give our students who do not have cars, direct access a medical emergency appointments. This also will free up Queen Alexander and St Marys as they already have long waiting times there. (4 hours) We have an aging workforce in the University and it has been regularly used by our staff. Portsmouth is the most populated area outside Europe.
