Mole and skin checking clinics

Further to the ongoing popularity of the mole and skin checking clinics, two clinics have been booked for this year. The clinics are co-ordinated by and facilitated in Occupational Health, and run by specialist Dermatology Nurses from Portsmouth Hospitals Trust.

If you are concerned about any moles you might have or any skin changes, we welcome you to take advantage of this service.

In particular the nurses will be looking for early signs of skin cancer and will be able to discuss with you the best ways to protect yourself in the sunshine. They will also be able to advise whether a fast-track referral to the hospital would be recommended.

The next clinic will take place from 9.45am to 3.20pm on:

  • Wednesday 4th June

All staff are welcome, especially if you had concerns last year but did not come or were unable to attend the clinic.

Please contact Occupational Health on ext 3187 to book a confidential 10-minute appointment slot.

  1. Are students allowed too? Some of us are older than the staff.

    • Hi Rosalie, the Occupation Health service is only for staff I’m afraid, although PhD students are employed as staff so can attend.

  2. What would be the location for this?

    Thank you.

  3. Hello Delia, the clinics will be held in the Occupational Health Service, 3rd floor, Nuffield Centre, St Michael’s Road.

Appointment slots are still available, but booking is essential.

  4. Great, thank you. I`ve just booked my place 🙂

  5. Hello,

Is there a mole clinic in July /August 2014 please?

  6. Hello, I’m afraid we’ve run our two clinics for this year (in May and June). If there is a concern regarding a mole or skin change, our advice would be to contact your GP.
