  1. Is there going to be anything for people who have to travel from Gosport on the ferry and buses?

  2. Hi Charlotte,

easitPORTSMOUTH have invited Gosport Ferry to join the scheme; there are currently no discounts available on the ferry, but something they are discussing with the easitTEAM for the future.

Bus discounts are already available on First ( but additional bus discounts via easitPORTSMOUTH will also follow. Keep an eye on our easit page (, which we’ll update as additional offers become available.

    Best Wishes,

  3. HI Charlotte,

Do you know if there is any discussion with the Council for UOP staff to get discount on the park and Ride, I would use this regularly if it was cheaper than it is now.

    Many thanks

  4. Are there any initiatives to fit electric car charging points in University car parks while the Government is still offering funding for them? If so, please can the high speed ones be fitted, that way more vehicles can use the points each day.

  5. Maybe the University would like to engage with the Park and Ride? Currently staff parking permits give permit holders permission to look for and park in a limited number of parking spaces. Maybe permit holder could use the Park and Ride for free, this would reduce traffic congestion coming into Portsmouth, reduce the University carbon foot print and encourage use of mass transportation in one fell swoop. Just a thought..

  6. Do the discounts apply on the SWT service to Southampton and the FGW service to Cardiff (via Southampton)?

  7. Is it worth considering the Hayling ferry in the Scheme?

  8. Thank you for all your comments; we really appreciate your interest in sustainable travel.

I’ve asked our Transport Co-ordinator for information regarding your Park & Ride questions, and she or I will update you soon.

Regarding electric charge points, there are no plans to install any on campus; there are points located nearby at Gunwharf Quays and NCP Crasswell Street, and also at the new Park and Ride. You can view charging points online:

easitPORTSMOUTH are currently making contact with local ferry and bus operators to see if they can negotiate additional discounts for us, and we’ll update our page ( with any new discounts that become available.

Rail discounts are available on South West Trains, First Great Western and Southern; if you have a query about a specific route and can’t find the answer on the external easit page (, please email cc’ing

    Best Wishes,

  9. Hello,

I have just moved and am commuting to work via a cycle/train combo. I’ve just come back from leave to hear about this and I think it is such a great step towards greener travel.

It is a great initiative and a welcomed addition to our other benefits that we receive.

Thanks to all who made it happen, it is appreciated.
